I am Head of Theatre Studies at the Academy of Creative Training in Brighton. As a visiting tutor I taught the MA Acting course at East 15 and devised and ran the Acting for the Camera module for their first year BA Acting students. I have had visiting tutor spells at Rose Bruford and Arts Ed. and for three years I have run screen acting workshops for the BA students on the directors course at The Ravensbourne Film School in London.
In 2013 I was invited by Hydrocracker Theatre Company to direct their Youth Theatre, The Firecrackers, in a site specific performance at Brighton Museum in conjunction with The Dome, and in 2014 I directed them in Brecht’s FEARS AND MISERIES OF THE THIRD REICH performed at The Dome Studio Theatre, Brighton. I directed the ACT final year diploma students in MEASURE FOR MEASURE in 2014 and A MIDSUMMER NIGHT’S DREAM in 2016 with performances at The Old Market Theatre, Brighton and in 2015 I directed writer and actor Jules Craig in her solo show, EDITH, ELIZABETH and I, supported by the Arts Council and performed as part of Brighton Fringe Festival 2015 prior to touring in 2016
As well as teaching and directing I have been involved in developing new work for Hydrocracker Theatre Company, Theatre and Beyond, The Nightingale and New Writing South. In 2010 I created Cafe Noir Productions and with Arts Council support produced and acted in the premiere of SECRET by Caroline Hume, directed by Annie Castledine and performed at The Redroaster in Brighton.
“A remarkable and inspiring show. The level of skill and commitment that Firecracker has inspired in this very young cast is astonishing”. Fears and Miseries of the Third Reich, The Dome Studio, Brighton.
